Located within the Madison Historic District, Heritage Hall was built in 1811 for Dr. William Johnston. Subsequent owners include Dr. William Johnston, Dr. Elijah Evans Jones, Steve Turnell, and Mrs. Fletcher Manley. In 1902, Steve Turnell moved the house 200 feet and later in 1923 opened the house as the Traveler's Inn. In 1977, Sue Reid Law, granddaughter of the final owner of the home, Mrs. Fletcher Manley, donated the structure to The Morgan County Historical Society, Inc. The house's four columns are flanked by two square piers, and the windows bear etchings created by the Jones family.</dc:description><dc:description>Slide annotated: "Madison."</dc:description><dc:description>Date of structure: 1811.</dc:description><dc:format>image/jpeg</dc:format><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:subject>Morgan County Historical Society (Ga.)</dc:subject><dc:subject>Greek Revival (Architecture)</dc:subject><dc:subject>European</dc:subject><dc:subject>Wood (plant material)</dc:subject><dc:subject>Entrances</dc:subject><dc:subject>Openings (architectural elements)</dc:subject><dc:subject>Architecture--Georgia--Madison</dc:subject><dc:subject>Architecture--Georgia--Morgan County</dc:subject><dc:subject>Evans, Elijah, Dr.--Homes and haunts</dc:subject><dc:subject>Foster family--Homes and haunts</dc:subject><dc:subject>Turnell family--Homes and haunts</dc:subject><dc:subject>Manley family--Homes and haunts</dc:subject><dc:title>Entrance (Heritage Hall, Madison, Ga.)</dc:title><dc:title>Entrance (Jones-Turnell-Manley House, Madison, Ga.)</dc:title><dc:type>StillImage</dc:type></oai_dc:dc>
