GEO RGIA . !< EDUCATIONAL DIRECTORY .;.. 1964-1965 Published by the STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION .............. 1 CLAUDE PURCELL State Superintendent of Schools Atlanta, Georgia .A - GEORGIA EDUCATIONAL DIRECTORY 1964-1965 Issued 'bY STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION Atlanta, Georgia HOW TO USE YOUR NEW DIRECTORY There have been some changes. In Section I, notice the new organization of the State Department of Education into four offices. Becwse of the new data process records, every school system has a code. These codes and the superintendent of each county and independent system are listed in Section ll. In Section m the schools are not listed separately by races The alphabetical listing includes every public school in Georgia. Every school has a code too. Those serving primarily white pupils have a code below 650. Those serving primarily Negro pupils have a code above 650. The staff in a particular system and detailed information on every school in that system follow the alphabetical listing. Notice that the independent systems are grouped together at the end :rather than under the counties in which they operate. STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION DR.
