Customer Relations Center 
The GS FC Customer Relations Center offers free counseling services to individual s who seek to improve their intellectual and work skills through colleges, universities, technica l co lleges, or career schools. The Custom er Relat ions staff conducts wor kshops at high schools, fa ith-based institution s, corporations, publ ic libraries, and community organizatio ns throughout the state. Pe rsonal one-on-one counse ling is ava ilable by visiting the GS FC Customer Relation s Ce nter in Tuc ker or by calling 1-800 -505-GSFC. T he Customer Relat ions Ce nter staff also ad vises school co unselors and other professiona ls on the financial aid process. 
 
Scholarships and Grants 
T he HOPE Scholarship Program, funded by the Georgia Lotter y for Edu cation , provides financial assistance to elig ible stude nts see king undergraduate college degrees and ce rtificates or di plom as at any eligible postsecondary institution in Georgia. 
The Georgia Tu ition Equalization Grant (GT EG), funded by state funds, goes to Georgia residents enro lled full -time as undergrad uates at e ligible private co lleges and universities in Georg ia. 
T he Leveraging Educational Assista nce Partnership (LEAP) Grant, funded by federal and state fund s, ass ists studen ts who de mon strate substantial financial need. 
T he Governor 's Scholarship Program , funded by state funds, provides assistance to Georg ia's high schoo l valedictorians, salutatorians, STAR Stude nts, and Georgia Scholars. 
The Rob ert C. Byrd Honors Schclarship, funded by federal funds, provides $ 1,500 per academi c year to outsta nd ing Georgia high schoo l gra duates. 
The lotter y-funded Public Safety Memorial Grant Program and the statefund ed Law Enforcement Personnel Dependents (LE P D) Grant Program, benefit the children of Georgia 's public safety officers who we re killed or disabled in the line of duty. 
The ROTC Grant, funded by state funds, serves Georgia residents who participate in the ROTC program at North Georgia College and State University.

GSFC Student and Parent Loans 
GSFC offers the federally guaranteed Stafford Loans to stude nts and PLUS Loa ns to parents at interest rates that are among the lowest in history. College students can apply for their Stafford Loans through GSFC by indicating Georgia Student Finance Authority as their preferred lender and listing Lender Code 822573 on the college's fin ancial aid forms. 
The Georg ia Ad va ntage program rewards Stafford Loan borrowers who make timely payments with a reduction in interest rates. 
The Gcorgia Firs t Education Loa n provides supplemental funds to assist students with educatio nal expenses not covered by other student financial aid programs. 
GSFC Service-Cancelable Loans 
GSFC's Service-Cance lable Loans serve students who are planning careers in health care, in teaching, or in the military. The ServiceCance lable Loans allow graduates to repay the loans by serving in the field of study at approved locations.

The lottery-funded HOPE Teacher and PROl\US E Teacher scholarship-loans allow recipient s to repay the debt by teac hing in Georgia Public Schools for one academic year for each $ 1,500 to $2.500 awarded, depending on the program . 
GS FC offers Military Schola rship Programs for stude nts seeking military caree rs who are attending North Georgia College & State University or Georgia Military College. Recipients of Military Sc holarships must serve in the Georgia National Guard after gra d uat ion. 
The Geo rg ia Na tio nal G ua rd Service-Cancelable Loan program enables citizens who already are members of the Georgia Air Force National Guard or Geo rgia Army National Guard to pursue an underg raduate degree. 
 
Default Aversion 
The Default Aversion Unit works with delinquent student loan borrowers to help them avoid the severe consequences for failure to repay. Volunteer Peer Financial Counseling groups are set up on school campuses, and loan counselors are available by telephone on weekdays and alternate Saturdays to help delinquent borrowers reach acceptable solutions with their lenders.
