The directory shows the location of each company and the name of a contact person. In addition, it lists the products accepted, fees paid, and minimum quantities accepted. Also listed for those companies that provide a pick-up service is the maximum distance each company will travel and the minimum quantities it will pick-up. The directory is not intended to be used as the sole source of information regarding recycling companies in Georgia. Rather, it gives data which, at the date of publication, represents the information currently accessible to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. It is a starting point from which contacts can be made. The directory is organized by county. Companies are listed alphabetically within each county. Also, individual companies can be located through two indices: an alphabetical index by company name that follows the table of content; and a product index that lists the companies handling each product. The information shown in the directory was obtained from a mail survey, supplemented by a telephone survey. The list of potential respondents was obtained from membership rosters of several associations related to recycling, the Instant Yellow Pages Service from Online Information Network, EnviroSouth, Inc. of Montgomery, Alabama, and other recycling directories. Every effort has been made to include all recyclers currently operating in Georgia. However, the fluid nature of the industry makes it impossible to assure 100 percent coverage. The user should note that companies' usage of the term "MRF" may differ from the definition of materials Recovery Facilities used in the Georgia Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Act.. Entries reflect each company's interpretation of the survey information requested. It should also be noted that neither the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, the Georgia Institute of Technology, nor their respective representatives assume any liability for the contents or services made available by the companies listed herein. Further, it is the users' responsibility to conduct their own evaluations as to the quality of the companies listed and their services.
