The total bonded debt of the State of Georgia and subdivisions 
 
as compiled frow reports of the county, city and town officials as 
 
at December 31, 19~9, is shown in the summary on page No. 3 
 
of this report. The detail information relative to the county wide, 
 
School District, City and Town bonded debt giving the informa- 
 
tion by county is shown beginning with page No. 4. All ques- 
 
tionnaires sent to county officials have been answered and out of 
 
58~ questionnaires sent to the cities and towns of Georgia, replies 
 
have been received from 31~ which includes the majority of the 
 
larger cities and towns.

Information relative to the Bonded Debt of the State of Georgia and its subdivisions is being constantly requested and I am impressed with the fact that some central office in the State Capitol should be designated to record the information relative to State, County, School District, City and Town bond issues. The office of the Secretary of State would seem to be the logical place for the keeping of such records. Section ~~3o-31-3~-33, page 93~ Parks Code, Codified from the Acts of 1876, page 1~, is a law requiring this information to be furnished the Secretary of State and to be recorded by him, but the law is very vague in its meaning and it is suggested that the law be amended so as to require that this information be furnished the recording office designated.
