GAcollege411 Highlights August 2008 New USG Admissions Information: Thank you to Sarah Wenham, and the rest of our partners at the Board of Regents for updating the University System of Georgia's admissions information. Information regarding the new High School graduation requirements, Freshman statistics, and information for transfer students is now available in the Student Planner, College Entrance Requirements. Georgia Apply to College Week: In an effort to further expand statewide college access, we are pleased to announce the first Georgia Apply to College Week to be held November 11-13, 2008. This event, sponsored by the Georgia DOE, GFIC, GSFC, the Technical College System of Georgia (formerly DTAE) and USG, and endorsed by the Georgia Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (GACRAO), has the goal of providing all Georgia high school seniors with the opportunity to apply to college using GAcollege411.org, with a focus on providing assistance to first generation students as they navigate the college application process. Look for more information on this dynamic event over the next few months. GAcollege411 Working Group: The next meeting of the GAcollege411 Working Group is scheduled for Tuesday, September 9, 2008. The meeting will take place at the Georgia Student Finance Commission. I was trying to see my daughter's hope GPA & it would not come up. support@gacollege411.org If your student's High School is participating in the transcript exchange process, and has uploaded all class grades, the information will be calculated. Please note that if a student is enrolled as a freshman through junior you will only be able to view a PROGRESS report - only graduating Seniors receive HOPE calculations. During the regular school year, we provide the HOPE PROGRESS report. This report used is to assist students in planning & knowing where they stand for HOPE eligibility. It is not a final record of HOPE eligibility. The HOPE progress report can be viewed on the website at www.gacollege411.org under the HOPE GPA calculation report link. This report will be available later this Fall (check with your counselor for a more specific timeframe). We hope this information helps!
