Veterinary experts from the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) are sharing important information with Georgians to raise awareness about dog flu and how to ensure the health of your pet. DPH's Director of Human Resources, Lee Rudd, is taking daily precautions to protect his beloved French bulldog, Samson, from According to the Centers for dog flu. Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), dog flu is a contagious respiratory disease in dogs caused by specific Type A influenza viruses known to infect dogs. These are called canine influenza viruses. Instructor-Led Microsoft Classes Cobb & Douglas Public Health (CDPH) and the Cobb Safety Village were recently honored with the Model Practice Award at the 2015 Annual Conference of the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO). But for one Georgia Regents University (GRU) Medical College of Georgia (MCG) student, public health sounded like an interesting and challenging rotation. William Grow, M.D., district health director, and the entire staff Vishal Goyal selected to spend the month of July in the heat of South Georgia observing the at DPH's South Health District are excited to welcome Vishal Goyal to their team for the summer. Goyal is the first Georgia Regents University Medical College of Georgia Student to intern with the South Health District. many programs of the Georgia Department of Public Health's (DPH) South Health District. As a native of Atlanta and resident of Augusta while at GRU, Goyal was interested in seeing a more rural area of the state so he elected to be the first MCG student to officially intern with DPH in the Valdosta area. According to Dr. Grow, a syllabus was submitted to become an approved site for medical students to learn more about public health practice as an elective rotation.
