Georgia's State Parks offer a variety of affordable vacation ideas, like yurts at High Falls, lakeside cabins at Elijah Clark or spacious campsites at Kolomoki Mounds. You'll find hiking trails, mini-golf, geocaching, ranger programs, fishing and more without ever having to leave the park. Start planning your summer getaway on GaStateParks.org. National Fishing & Boating Week From reservoirs to rivers, the abundant waters found in Georgia's State Parks make for a true angler's and boater's paradise. Get out on the water during National Fishing and Boating Week, June 4 to 12, and enjoy swimming, paddling, skiing and fishing. Many parks rent boats, provide fishing docks and even offer loaner tackle. Find places to explore on GaStateParks.org. Celebrate Father's Day Outdoors For outdoorsy dads, a day in nature can be the best gift of all. With Father's Day just around the corner on June 19, Georgia's State Parks and Historic Sites make it easy to make long-lasting memories. Treat Dad to "glamping" in yurt, teeing off at a golf course, renting a canoe, or simply grilling out in the shade. Gift cards let Dad plan a cabin getaway later this summer, and ParkPasses ensure a full year of outdoor adventures. Need even more ideas? Check GaStateParks.org for geocaching, boating, bike rental, picnic shelters and more. Passport to Adventure Explorers on a mission to visit all of Georgia's State Parks and Historic Sites have a new way of tracking their travels. Inside the booklet, you'll find photos and descriptions of more than 60 state parks and historic sites, from Amicalola Falls to Wormsloe. There's even space to note "My Favorite Thing" and add a sticker to seal your memory. Passports are available in site gift shops, some metro-Atlanta REI stores and from Friends of Georgia State Parks & Historic Sites. Program Calendar Junior Ranger Camps are scheduled at numerous state parks and historic sites this summer. Your little ones can join ranger-led groups or earn badges on their own schedule.
