Preservation Georgia Online September 17-23, 2007 In this issue: Regional press releases link Georgia Heritage Grants and preservation tag Positions available in Georgia Preservation events calendar Subscription information ************************************************************************ Regional press releases link Georgia Heritage Grants and preservation tag In the ongoing effort to promote the preservation tag and its importance to the Georgia Heritage Grant Program, HPD recently prepared a series of press releases targeting specific geographical areas across the state. While the press release provides general information about the grant program, it also identifies prior grants that have been awarded within local communities. The tag is then mentioned as a potential source of funding for the Georgia Heritage Grant program. Press releases were e-mailed to 99 outlets and mailed to 145 others. As a result, several newspapers have contacted HPD requesting additional information, and an article appeared in the Savannah Business Report. In addition radio station WRGA in Rome interviewed Division Director Ray Luce. For information on the press release for your community, contact public information coordinator Helen Talley-McRae at 404-651-5268 or helen_talleymcrae@dnr.state.ga.us. As orders get closer to the 1,000 goal, it is important that we continue the push to promote the new tag. Tag orders are now at 884. For more information, contact grants coordinator Carole Moore at 404-463-8434 or e-mail at carole_moore@dnr.state.ga.us. ************************************************************************ Positions available in Georgia Preservation Services Manager, Atlanta - The Georgia Trust seeks a motivated individual to coordinate and help implement statewide services of general preservation programs.
