In the October 2006 issue of The Tybee News, the historical society placed a full-page color advertisement and a full-page order form. The historical society also placed a full-page article and order form combination in the fall/winter issue of its own newsletter "Keeping the Watch," which was mailed to a 1,000 members and was placed in every post office box on Tybee Island (2,500 households). They plan to continue placing ads in the Tybee News and run articles in their own newsletter periodically to help promote the tag. HPD thanks the Tybee Island Historical Society! License plate orders still are increasing steadily, about 15-20 per week, with our current number at 361. For more information on how to order the historic preservation license plate or help spread the word, please contact grants coordinator Carole Moore at 404-463-8434 or email her at carole_moore@dnr.state.ga.us.
