It is the intent that proceeds from the sale of these license plates will promote preservation projects through HPD's Georgia Heritage Grant program. HPD is now reissuing an "Invitation to Submit Artwork" for the design of these plates. Please go to HPD's website (www.gashpo.org) to see the formal announcement. The deadline for artwork to be received at HPD is Wednesday, January 18, 2006. The ATCO-Goodyear Mill & Mill Historic District encompasses the intact and contiguous historic resources associated with the development of the ATCO-Goodyear and the associated mill village. The district represents the early to mid-20th Century development of manufacturing mills with associated mill villages in Georgia.
