Co-sponsors include Augusta State University and the Augusta Archaeological Society. The theme for this meeting is "Volunteers in Archaeology." Dr. Albert Goodyear, Director, Allendale Paleoindian Expedition will present the keynote address on Friday, October 11 at 8 p.m. in Washington Hall, Augusta State University. A reception will follow. On Saturday, October 12, the program will highlight ongoing archaeological work that's being done, much of it in partnership between avocationals and professionals. Capping the day's events will be a tour of the Augusta State University campus. The entire campus has been designated an archaeological site based on its former use as an arsenal from the 1820s until the 1950s.
