This publication is the culmination of a year long formal process that included: soliciting input from HPD's constituents as well as staff analysis of preservation programs, issues and projects; confirmation of long-range goals; and the identification of objectives and annual action plan items. Completing a five-year plan is a program requirement for participation in the national historic preservation program and a condition for continued grant eligibility through the Historic Preservation Fund. The complete document will soon be available on HPD's Web site at www.gashpo.org under "2001-2006 State Plan." Printed copies will be distributed by mail in early January. ***************************************************************************** GAAHPN NEWSLETTER WELCOMES NEW READERS Reflections is the quarterly newsletter of the Georgia African American Historic Preservation Network (GAAHPN). This organization's membership has recently grown from 350 to over 900. As Reflections enters its second year of publication, it was decided that distribution will now be extended to HPD's entire mailing list, rather than to GAAHPN membership only. The December 2001 issue is currently in the mail and will soon be available on HPD's Web site at www.gashpo.org under "Newsletters." Please contact Jeanne Cyriaque, African American Programs Coordinator, at 404/ 656-4768 or jeanne_cyriaque@mail.dnr.state.ga.us for more information or to request a print copy. ***************************************************************************** YOUR TOWN The Georgia "Your Town: Designing Its Future" workshop, January 17 20, 2002 in Plains, will focus on African American community issues.
