How about that old bank building on Main Street that is now a restaurant? Or that dedicated preservationist who has made a difference in your community? The Georgia Trust's 2002 Preservation Awards are designed to honor preservation projects and people who have contributed to the preservation of Georgia's historic resources. Each year The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation recognizes significant contributions to the preservation of Georgia's historic resources. The Awards Committee bases its decisions on the contributions of the person or project to the community and/or state and on the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation. Awards in the categories of: Restoration, Rehabilitation, Stewardship, and Preservation Service will be presented at the Annual Meeting in April 2002. Awards are not necessarily presented in every category each year. Please visit The Georgia Trust's Web site for more information and to download an application at www.georgiatrust.org/. ***************************************************************************** HPD WEEKLY UPDATE SUBSCRIPTION INFORMATION The HPD Weekly Update is produced by the Historic Preservation Division (HPD) of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
