HB 740 by Representative Benton of the 31st TOWN OF PENDERGRASS: House Bill 740 adds two new members to the city council of the town of Pendergrass. HB 753 by Representative Smith of the 70th COWETA COUNTY: House Bill 753 creates the Coweta County Public Facilities Authority. HB 754 by Representative Benton of the 31st CITY OF HOSCHTON: House Bill 754 provides for a new governmental structure for the city of Hoschton. HB 755 by Representative Meeks of the 178th PIERCE COUNTY: House Bill 755 abolishes the Pierce County Board of Elections and Registration on June 30, 2021. HB 756 by Representative Meeks of the 178th PIERCE COUNY: House Bill 756 reconstitutes and reestablishes the Pierce County Board of Elections and Registration. The board will be composed of five members, three of whom will be appointed by the Pierce County grand jury and two of whom will be appointed by the judge of the Pierce County Probate Court from nominations made by the two political parties who received the highest and second highest amount of votes in the county for their candidate for governor in the preceding general election. The bill will not become effective and will be automatically repealed on July 1, 2021, if a bill to abolish the current board is not approved during the 2021 session. HB 757 by Representative Nguyen of the 89th CITY OF ATLANTA: House Bill 757 amends the `Atlanta Urban Enterprise Zone Act' by providing for findings and purpose of urban enterprise zones, for types of ad valorem property tax exemptions, and for designating urban enterprise zones. HB 759 by Representative Petrea of the 166th TOWN OF THUNDERBOLT: House Bill 759 authorizes the town of Thunderbolt to levy an excise tax. HB 769 by Representative Mathiak of the 73rd SPALDING COUNTY: House Bill 769 revises the composition of the Spalding County Board of Elections and Registration. Two members will be appointed by the chairperson of the county executive committee of the political party whose candidates received the largest number of votes for members of the General Assembly in the preceding general election. One member will be appointed by the vote of a majority of the judges of the Spalding County Superior Court. SB 280 by Senator Gooch of the 51st LUMPKIN COUNTY: Senate Bill 280 revises the qualifications for the county manager of Lumpkin County. SB 282 by Senator Anderson of the 24th LINCOLN COUNTY: Senate Bill 282 provides for the abolition of the Lincoln County Board of Elections and Registration on June 30, 2021. SB 283 by Senator Anderson of the 24th LINCOLN COUNTY: Senate Bill 283 reconstitutes and reestablishes the Lincoln County Board of Elections and Registration. The board will be composed of five members, three of whom will be appointed by the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners, one of whom will be appointed by the governing authority of the city of Lincolnton, and one of whom will be appointed by the Lincoln County Board of Education. The bill will not become effective and will be automatically repealed on July 1, 2021, if a bill to abolish the current board is not approved during the 2021 session. PURSUANT TO ARTICLE VII, SECTION II, PARAGRAPH IV OF THE STATE CONSTITUTION, THE FOLLOWING LOCAL BILLS RELATING TO HOMESTEAD EXEMPTIONS REQUIRE A TWO-THIRDS ROLL-CALL VOTE FOR PASSAGE: HB 732 by Representative Dreyer of the 59th CITY OF ATLANTA: House Bill 732 amends an Atlanta School District homestead exemption by removing the sunset date.
