HB 558 by Representative McCall of the 33rd MADISON COUNTY: A Bill to amend the charter of the City of Colbert to provide for staggered, four-year terms of office for the mayor and council; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes. PURSUANT TO ARTICLE VII, SECTION II, PARAGRAPH IV OF THE CONSTITUTION, THE FOLLOWING LOCAL BILLS RELATING TO HOMESTEAD EXEMPTIONS REQUIRE A TWO-THIRDS ROLL-CALL VOTE FOR PASSAGE: HB 330 by SUBSTITUTE by Representative Glanton of the 75th CLAYTON COUNTY: A Bill to restate the homestead exemption from all City of Jonesboro ad valorem taxes for municipal purposes to the amount of $10,000.00 of the assessed value of the homestead for residents of that city and repeals an earlier Act which previously granted a homestead exemption from City of Jonesboro ad valorem taxes for municipal purposes. SB 201 by Senator Gooch of the 51st WHITE COUNTY: A Bill to provide a homestead exemption from White County school district ad valorem taxes for educational purposes in the amount of $100,000.00 of the assessed value of the homestead for residents of that school district who are 70 years of age or older and whose income, not including certain retirement income, does not exceed $25,000.00.
