Richardson Re-Elected for 2nd Term as Speaker 
 
ATLANTA--Georgia Speaker of the House Glenn Richardson (R-Hiram) today congratulated the new officers of the House Republican Caucus as he accepted the honor and responsibility of another two year term as speaker. 
The House Republican Caucus elected the following officers: 
Representative Glenn Richardson (House District 19)  Speaker Representative Mark Burkhalter (House District 50)  Speaker Pro Temp Representative Jerry Keen (House District 179)  Majority Leader Representative Barry Fleming (House District 117)  Majority Whip Representative Jay Roberts (House District 154)  Caucus Chair Representative Donna Sheldon (House District 105)  Caucus Vice Chair Representative Jeff May (House District 111)  Caucus Secretary 
"It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as speaker of this distinguished body, and I am humbled by the opportunity to serve a second term," Richardson said. "I would like to extend my congratulations to our new and returning caucus officers  I am confident that these individuals will serve their colleagues and their constituents honorably. 
"A short two years and seven days ago, this caucus had only 71 members. Today we stand strong at 106, and growing. At a time when Republicans all across this country were either remaining constant or loosing ground, we in Georgia were able to pick up seats and I believe it is because we are doing the job we said we would do. We have advanced a no-nonsense, pro business, pro family, conservative agenda. We will continue to stay the course, moving Georgia forward as long as the people of this state will permit us the privilege."
