State Representative David Ralston Appointed To The Georgia Public Defenders Standards Council 
Atlanta House Speaker Glenn Richardson (R-Dallas) appointed David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) to the Georgia Public Defenders Council today. The committee is a part of the new statewide public defenders system and was initially created in 2003 under the Georgia Indigent Defense Act. 
 
Representative Ralston, who is also an attorney, will work with council members to assure that all Georgia citizens are provided with equal access to adequate and effective legal representation. The committee is also responsible for setting professional standards and administrative support for the 49 defender circuit offices in Georgia. 
 
Ralston is also currently serving as Chairman for the Judiciary Non-Civil Committee as well as a member of the Reapportionment and Rules committees.
