Greene Announces Funding for Local Improvement Projects 
 
Atlanta Representative Gerald Greene (D-Cuthbert) announces the procurement of $500,000 for local improvement projects for Early County. The money will come in the form of a Community Development Block Grant and will be administered through the State Department of Community Affairs. 
 
The $500,000 grant is earmarked for street and drainage improvements proposed by the community. 
 
"I would like to thank the Governor, and everyone else involved in securing this funding," said Rep. Greene. "Every little bit helps during these tight fiscal times, and I'm glad we could make this happen." 
 
"I'm sure our county officials will put this money to good use." 
 
Rep. Greene is Chairman of the House State Institution and Property Committee. He also serves on the budget writing Appropriations Committee, as well as the Banks and Banking, Inter-state Cooperation and Administrative Services committees.
