The Information sector has added 2,500 jobs over the month, and has expanded for four consecu- tive months. Workforce Statistics & Economic Research In January 2022, Georgia's unemployment rate (seasonally adjusted) declined to 3.2 percent over the month from 3.3 percent in December 2021. Georgia's current rate remains well below the 4.0 percent national average. Over the year, the unemployment rate in the state is down from 4.8 percent in January 2021.
