Manufacturing employment Georgia Unemployment Rate (Seasonally Adjusted) increased by 2,000 in February after employment was 12.5% down 2,100 in January. The professional and business services sector added 1,000 jobs in February and has seen employment growth in 10 straight months. The 9.4% majority of the February job growth in the sector was in 8.4% administrative and support services. Government employment was down 4,300 in February after being up 800 in January. The information sector lost 2,200 jobs over the month after adding 4,200 jobs in January. Leisure and hospitality (-86,300 jobs), government (-26,000 jobs), education and health services (-25,200 jobs), and professional and business services (-22,100 jobs) have lost the most jobs from February 2020 to February 2021. Georgia's unemployment rate (seasonally adjusted) declined to 4.8 percent in February from 5.1 percent in January 2021. Over the year, the unemployment rate is up from 3.5 percent in February 2020.
