Manufacturing employment has now shown negative job growth for a third straight month with employment down 1,100 in February. Non-Durable Goods manufacturing experienced 1,000 job cuts over the month and Durable Goods manufacturing employment declined by 100. Over the year, employment in Georgia is up 48,800, or 1.1 percent. Education and Health Services (+26,600 jobs); Trade, Transportation, and Utilities (+13,400 jobs); Leisure and Hospitality (+8,200 jobs); and Financial Activities (+3,500 jobs) have added the most jobs over the year. Georgia's unemployment rate (seasonally adjusted) held steady at 3.1 percent from January to February 2020. Over the year, the unemployment rate is down from 3.7 percent in February 2019.
