Health Care and Social Assistance accounted for 4,100 of the 4.3% January job gains while Educational Services shed 1,200 4.2% 4.2% positions. Construction employment expanded by 2,000 in 4.1% January, its eighteenth consecutive month of job growth. 4.0% Government jobs were down 2,700 in January after being down 600 in December. State Government cut 2,400 positions over the month. Information employment fell by 1,600 in January after being down 1,200 and 1,400 in December and November, respectively. Other Services lost 1,300 jobs in January. Manufacturing employment declined by 1,200 this month after being up 1,900 in December.
