This modest addition of workers is an increase of 0.8 percent. There were 12,100 workers in the sector in 2005 and 12,200 in 2006. Construction jobs were up for the third straight year in 2006 after enduring job declines for three straight years. From 2005 to 2006 the sector added 10,300 workers (+4.9 percent) after adding 4,800 jobs in 2004 and 9,000 jobs in 2005.
