FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Kings Bay Youth Job Fair Scheduled ATLANTA State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor's Kings Bay Career Center, the Kings Bay Employer Committee, and several other local organizations will sponsor the area's 13th annual youth job fair on Thursday, March 20. The event is designed to help youth 15-22 years old find jobs and career opportunities. "This event marks the thirteenth year that the job fair has been held in the Kings Bay area," said Commissioner Thurmond. "Last year, more than 300 students and other job seekers participated, and a number of employers were able to fill their job openings. I encourage the employers and youth in the Kings Bay area to participate again this year, so that this event will be just as successful as the other 12 job fairs have been." The job fair will be held from 4-6:30 p.m. at the cafeteria at Camden County High School, located off Laurel Island Parkway, near I-95's Exit 6 in Kingsland. While the job fair targets youth in Camden, Charlton, and Glynn counties in Georgia and Nassau County in Florida, no job applicant seeking an employment opportunity is denied admittance to the event. Other sponsors of the event include: Youth Apprenticeship and Work-Based learning programs at Camden County High School, the Navy Fleet and Family Support Center, Privett-Bennett and Associates, Telamon Corporation, Camden County Chamber of Commerce, and Coastal Georgia Community College's Camden Center. Employers and other organizations that would like to participate in the youth job fair may contact Rachel Baldwin of Camden County High School at (912) 729-4790; Faith CopelandPittman of the Kings Bay Career Center at (912) 673-6942; or Debbie Lucas or Mary Louise Glass of Fleet and Family Support Center at (912) 573-4513. There is no charge for participation in the event. The Kings Bay Employer Committee is a group of local business representatives who establish and maintain a working relationship between the employer community and the Kings Bay Career Center.
