(KMMG) is now accepting online applications [link to www.kiajobsingeorgia.com/app] for hourly jobs at the Kia automobile plant in West Point, Georgia. Any computer with Internet access may be used to complete and submit an application. The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) is assisting Kia applicants in this process. Individuals who need Internet access or other assistance completing the Kia application may receive such assistance at any of GDOL's 53 career centers by calling 1-877-DOLKia1 (1-877-365-5421) between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday and scheduling an appointment. The application process will remain open through February 7, 2008. Only one application will be accepted by Kia within a 12-month period. You may apply for only one of the following three hourly positions: Production Team Member (PTM) The PTM performs various work station, line assembly, or production support operations to mass produce automobile components into completed automobiles. This position assembles or supports assembly of components and sub-components by performing any combination of repetitive tasks according to specifications and quality requirements in hand-to-hand method of production. The PTM also performs manual or automated operation of machinery or tools such as hand tools; power tools; production fixtures; and assembly, painting, stamping, welding, and conveyance equipment. Maintenance Team Member (MTM) and Tool and Die Maintenance Team Member (DMTM). These positions require some experience in these fields. The MTM and DMTM perform highly diversified duties in industrial, facilities, or tool and die maintenance functions to maintain automobile production, process, and facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance requirements. They provide support in a variety of industrial or manufacturing technology skill areas including CNC/machining, electrical, electronics, fabrication, HVAC, hydraulics, mechanical, motor controls/PLC, pneumatics, robotics, tool and die, waste water treatment, welding, and other industrial processing systems. They conduct machine setup and install, problem diagnosis, troubleshooting and repair, and preventive maintenance service. They also use a variety of hand and power tools, machines, and equipment in performing duties.
