FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Georgia Department of Labor schedules career fair in Gwinnett County ATLANTA State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor's Gwinnett Career Center and other local organizations will sponsor its fourth annual career fair for employers and job seekers in the area. The career fair will be held Thursday, Sept. 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Celebration Hall of the Christian Life Center at the Snellville United Methodist Church, located at 2428 Main St. East in Snellville. In addition to the labor department and the church, the Crossroads Career Network is also a sponsor of the event. Commissioner Thurmond said, "This career fair is designed to bring employers and organizations in the Gwinnett County area together with job seekers who are looking for employment or career guidance. Job seekers will receive cutting edge information on job search, career planning, and other valuable services to help them reach their full workplace potential." The event will feature about 20 employers that will be hiring to fill current job openings. In addition, other employers will be discussing possible future employment opportunities with the job seekers, while other organizations will be providing educational and other resources. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings. Among the employers expected to participate in the event include: AFLAC, Atlanta Electrical Contractors, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Atlanta Marriott at Gwinnett Place, Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, E. R. Snell Construction, Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, Gwinnett County Police Department, JA Recruiters, McKesson, Perimeter Staffing, Stone Mountain Park, and United Parcel Service (UPS).
