Georgia Department of Labor schedules job fair/career expo in Dublin
ATLANTA State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor's Dublin Career Center, along with several other local organizations, will co-sponsor a job fair and career expo for employers and job seekers in the area. Other sponsors include: Heart of Georgia Technical College, Job Training Unlimited, and the Dublin Courier Herald. The event will be held Friday, May 11, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the technical college's DuBose Porter Training Center Building, located at 560 Pine Hill Road in Dublin.
Commissioner Thurmond said, "This job fair and career expo is designed to bring employers and organizations in the Dublin area together with job seekers who are looking for employment or career guidance. Job seekers will receive cutting edge information on job search, career planning, and other valuable services designed to help them reach their full workplace potential."
The event will feature about 50 employers that will be hiring to fill current job openings. In addition, other employers will be discussing possible future employment opportunities with the job seekers, while other organizations will be providing educational and other resources. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings.
Among the employers expected to participate in the event include: ACS, Altivity Packing (Smurfitt-Stone), Ambassador, Army National Guard, BellSouth, Best Buy Distribution Center, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Caring Hands, Caremaster, Carl Vinson VAMC, Corrections Corporation of America-Wheeler Correctional Institute and McRae, Department of Juvenile Justice, DOT Foods, Dublin City Fire and Police Departments, Etcon Staffing Services, Fairview Park Hospital, Farmers Furniture Warehouse, Flexsteel Industries, Georgia Army National Guard, Georgia Aviation, Georgia State Patrol, Home Instead, Image Staffing, ManpowerDublin and Vidalia, Matos Industries, Melaleuca, MM Adult Care, Mohawk Carpet, Oxford, Pinecare Management, Pruett Air Conditioning, Quizno's Subs, Shoney's, Sizemore Staffing Services, Superior Temps, Telfair State Prison, The ARK, Trane, Three Rivers Home Health, United Way, Wilcox Correctional Institute, Willstaff Worldwode, W.
