FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Georgia Department of Labor schedules career fair in Gwinnett ATLANTA State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor's Gwinnett Career Center and the Gwinnett Employer Committee will cohost a career fair for employers and job seekers in the area. The career fair will be held Monday, Nov. 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 2211 Beaver Ruin Rd., Suite 160, in Norcross, the site of the Gwinnett Career Center. Commissioner Thurmond said, "This career fair is designed to bring employers and organizations in the Gwinnett County area together with job seekers who are looking for employment or career guidance. Job seekers will receive cutting edge information on job search, career planning, and other valuable services to help them reach their full workplace potential." The event is expected to feature about 40 employers that will be hiring to fill current job openings. In addition, other employers will be discussing possible future employment opportunities with the job seekers, while other organizations will be providing educational and other resources. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings. Among the employers expected to participate are: Atlanta Electrical Contractors, ATS Staffing, Charter Communications, Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, Clarke County Sheriff's Office, Cobb County Police Department, Goodwill Industries, Gwinnett County Police Department, ITech Staffing, Kroger, Lake Lanier Island, McKesson, Toys R Us, U.S. Marine Corps and USP Supply Chain Solutions.
