Labor department schedules Tifton area career fair 
 
ATLANTA  State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor's Tifton Career Center, along with several other local organizations, will co-sponsor a career fair for employers and job seekers in the area. Other event sponsors include: Tift Area Technical College and the Tift Area Employer Committee. 
 
Commissioner Thurmond said, "This career fair is designed to bring Tifton area employers and organizations together with job seekers who are looking for career guidance and possible future employment. Job seekers will receive cutting edge information on job search, career planning, and other valuable services designed to help them reach their full workplace potential." 
 
The career fair will be held Thursday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Tift Area Technical College, 52 Tech Dr. in Tifton. The event will feature about 50 employers and organizations. Representatives from area businesses will be on hand to display their businesses to the public and discuss possible employment opportunities with their companies. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings.
