LABOR DEPARTMENT'S MACON OFFICE TO OPEN LONGER HOURS
ATLANTA -- State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor's Macon office will expand its hours to better serve employers and job seekers in the area.
Beginning May 1, the office will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Fridays. Staff will also be available to assist customers outside of normal office hours by appointment. The office is not open on weekends.
"We're able to expand our schedule without additional staff, overtime, or employee workload by using flex-time schedules," said David Clinard, manager of the office. "The extended hours will allow our customers, especially those whose work schedules correspond with our traditional operating schedule, more opportunities to use the department's services. We want to be available when our customers need us."
The office is located at 3090 Mercer University Dr. in Macon. The telephone number is (912) 7516164. The office serves Bibb, Crawford, Jones, and Monroe counties.
