GRIFFIN EMPLOYER COMMITTEE TO SPONSOR TRAINING SEMINAR FOR AREA SUPERVISORS AND MANAGERS 
 
ATLANTA -- The Griffin Area Employer Committee, which supports the programs of the Georgia Department of Labor's Griffin office, will offer its third in a series of training seminars for area supervisors and managers. Counties in the area served by the office include Butts, Henry, Lamar, Pike, Spalding, and Upson. 
 
The seminar, entitled "Coaching, Training, and Conflict Resolution," is set for Friday, Jan. 21, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Griffin Technical Institute at 501 Varsity Road. Cost of the seminar is $75 per person. 
 
Marcia Swoger of Atlanta, director of Lehn Training and Development, will conduct the seminar, which will provide training for first-line supervisors and managers on how to improve employee performance in a changing workplace. 
 
Previous seminars conducted by Swoger for area employers include: "Understanding Personality and Behavior, and Communications," and "Leadership and Motivation." A fourth seminar -"Problem Solving and Decision Making" -- is scheduled for March. 
 
"Maria has the ability to interact with her audience and bring real life examples into the training," said Don Kown of Griffin, chairman of the area's employer committee. 
 
Swoger, who specializes in helping managers and supervisors direct their leadership styles toward the mission of an organization, has more than 20 years experience with "people" management and development. She is well-versed in designing programs for companies to bring about positive behavior. Some of her clients include NCR, IBM, Georgia Pacific, Telecom, and the University of
