Atlanta, Georgia 30303-1751 (404)656-3032 September 16, 1999 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE TWO WORK FORCE SEMINARS SET FOR TWIGGS COUNTY NEXT WEEK ATLANTA -- State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor's Youth Motivational Task Force and the Twiggs County Comprehensive High School will co-sponsor two work force development seminars next week in Jeffersonville. The seminars, which are open to the public, will be held Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 22-23, from 9-10:30 a.m. on the school campus located off Highway 96. A highlight of the seminars will be a speech by Ron Johnson of Union City, founder of Visioneer, Inc., a motivational training program used in companies and schools to help individuals achieve their highest potential. Since 1993, the Georgia Department of Labor's Youth Motivational Task Force has assisted in preparing thousands of Georgia youth for life after high school. Other participants at the seminars will be representatives from Bay Branch Kaolin Company, Macon Technical Institute, Electrical Workers Union Local 1316, and the area's Youth Apprenticeship Coordinator.
