STATE DOL TO HOLD JOB FAIR FOR THE WESTIN SAVANNAH HOTEL 
 
ATLANTA -- State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor will sponsor a job fair next week to fill about 300 openings for The Westin Harbor Resort Hotel in Savannah. 
 
Presently under construction on Hutchenson Island across the river from River Street, the hotel is scheduled to open in December, but employees will be needed by Nov. 15. 
 
The job fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Oct. 11-14, at the Savannah Civic Center at the corner of Liberty and Montgomery Streets. 
 
Openings include accountants, accounting clerks, administrative assistants, banquet set-up and servers, bartenders, bell persons, bus persons, bus attendants, cashiers/greeters, cocktail servers, concierge, cooks, food servers, front desk clerks, housekeeping attendants, reservations agents, shift engineers, stewards and telephone operators. 
 
Salaries range from $6.65 to $10 an hour. 
 
Applicants should bring their work history or resume and be prepared to interview.
