DEPARTMENT'S ESSAY CONTEST 
 
ATLANTA -- Penny Haythorn, right, a secretary in the Georgia Department of Labor's Brunswick office, was named runner-up in the department's annual essay competition. Each year, the department promotes an essay contest to generate interest in the Georgia Chapter of the International Association of Personnel in Employment Security (IAPES), the department's professional organization. This year's theme was "Shape Your Future." Mary Alice Mosley of Marietta, left, presents the award on behalf of IAPES at the organization's 55th annual educational conference held recently at Jekyll Island.
