Here is what is new: "Reflections through the Lens and Back" exhibit about Jewish partisan Faye Schulman comes to Sandy Springs The Georgia Commission on the Holocaust is hosting the Am Yisrael Chai! exhibition "Reflections Through the Lens and Back" at Anne Frank in the World: 1929-1945 in Sandy Springs this summer. The exhibit highlights some of partisan and photographer Faye Schulman's incredible photographs and more recent paintings. The exhibit opens on June 26th, 2013, and will be on display through August. "Witness to the Holocaust" 2013 Library Tour The Georgia Commission on the Holocaust in partnership with the Georgia Public Library Service is bringing the travelling exhibit "Witness to the Holocaust: WWII Veteran William Alexander Scott III at Buchenwald" to libraries throughout the state from May to November of 2013. Georgia Educator Meghan McNeeley receives 2013 Spirit of Anne Frank Outstanding Educator Award Meghan McNeeley, an 8th grade English Language Arts teacher at Clarke Middle School in Athens, Georgia, has received the 2013 Spirit of Anne Frank Outstanding Educator Award. She accepted the honor and spoke at the Anne Frank Center USA's annual Gala in New York City on July 12th, 2013. Earlier this year, McNeeley was named a Distinguished Educator of the Year by the Georgia Commission on the Holocaust, and serves on the Commission's Educator Advisory Committee. She is actively involved with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM) as a Museum Teacher Fellow and member of the USHMM's Regional Education Corps. 7/21/13 - Free Sunday Matinee! The documentary "tak.for.alt" tells the story of educator Judy Meisel, a Holocaust survivor whose experiences during World War II inspired her to become an educator and civil rights advocate in the United States.
