A PROCLAMATION 
 
2-1-1 DAY 
 
WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: THEREFORE: 
 
Thousands of Georgians have a need to access a variety of human and social service needs each day, ranging from childcare to affordable housing, from support for a homebound parent to crisis services and volunteer opportunities; and 
2-1-1 Call Centers in Georgia answered those calls more than 250,000 times in 201 5, connecting people to the services they need to make their lives better; and 
Thousands of local, regional, statewide and national organizations, both public and private, provide services to respond to needs; and 
2-1 -1 maintains a comprehensive health and human services database accessible by the 2-1 -1 dial code and with free access to community resources through information and referral; and 
The process of connecting those living and working in Georgia with needed services has been simplified by the establishment of a 2-1-1 service in ten regions, providing more than 80 percent of Georgians with easy access to service information; now 
I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim February 11,2016, as 2-1-1 DAY in Georgia.
