BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA 
A PROCLAMATION 
 
UTILITY CONTRACTORS SAFETY DAY 
 
WHEREAS: 
 
The utility construction industry plays a significant role in the economic health and development of our state and its infrastructure; and 
 
WHEREAS: 
 
Safety has become a vital part of the utility construction industry and its presence has contributed greatly to the dynamic growth and progress of our state; and 
 
WHEREAS: 
 
There are more than 1,000 utility contractor companies in Georgia with high principles and standards of excellence among contractors in construction; and 
 
WHEREAS: 
 
Utility contractors in Georgia will join with organizations throughout the state in providing employers and employees with information, guidance, and access to safety training resources that will help protect their health and safety; now 
 
THEREFORE: 
 
I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim March 19, 201 5, as UTILITY CONTRACTORS SAFETY DAY in Georgia.
