BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA 
 
A PROCLAMATION 
 
EMPLOYEE LEARNING WEEK 
 
WHEREAS : 
 
A capable, educated workforce is essential to Georgia' s .economic vitality, driving growth, and innovation; and 
 
WHEREAS: 
 
Businesses and organizations that are committed to creating a highly skilled workforce recognize the competitive advantage of employee education as skilled employees improve performance and productivity; and 
 
WHEREAS: 
 
Continued employee learning develops individual and organizational knowledge and expertise; and 
 
WHEREAS: 
 
Organizations such as the American Society of Training & Development (ASTD), the world's largest association dedicated to employee training and development, are committed to improving workforce efficiency. The ASTD Greater Atlanta Chapter has more than 1,000 member organizations from Savannah to North Georgia; and 
 
WHEREAS: 
 
Employee Learning Week provides an opportunity to recognize these organizations , their members , and other groups that promote workplace learning; now . 
 
THEREFORE: 
 
I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim December 7-11 , 201 5, as EMPLOYEE LEARNING WEEK in Georgia.
