A PROCLAMATION 
 
STATE EMPLOYEES RECOGNITION WEEK 
 
WHEREAS : 
 
The State of Georgia is proud to celebrate May 7, 2014, as State Employees Recognition Day and the week of May 4-1 0, 2014, as State Employees Recognition Week, a time to honor the men and women who serve in our state; and 
 
WHEREAS: 
 
Georgians are fortunate to have government employees who excel in the workplace. These hardworking men and women demonstrate dependability, initiative, and practical stewardship of state resources; and 
 
WHEREAS: 
 
Throughout Georgia, public employees will use this time to educate citizens about the many ways state government serves the people. It also serves as an opportunity to showcase how state government makes life better for individuals and communities; and 
 
WHEREAS: 
 
State employees perform valuable and vital services that benefit all Georgians. From health and human services, education, and natural resources, to revenue collection, public safety, and emergency relief, dedicated men and women take pride in the way they serve their fellow citizens in a helpful and professional manner; and 
 
WHEREAS : 
 
During the week of May 4- 10, 2014, the State of Georgia will recognize the contributions of thousands of state employees who give of themselves in service to Georgia daily; now 
 
THEREFORE: 
 
I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim May 4- 10, 2014, as STATE EMPLOYEES RECOGNITION WEEK, with May 7 as STATE EMPLOYEES RECOGNITION DAY in Georgia and encourage our citizens to recognize the vital contributions of Georgia's state employees. 
 
In witness thereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the Executive Department to be affixed this 23rd day of April in th e year of our Lord two thousand fourteen.
