A PROCLAMATION CORRECTIONAL OFFICERS WEEK 
 
WHEREAS: 
WHEREAS: WHEREAS : WHEREAS: WHEREAS: THEREFORE: 
 
Georgia correctional officers demonstrate extraordinary commitment to performing their duties in state, county, and private institutions as well as boot camps, transitional centers, and detention centers; and 
Georgia's correctional officers exemplify professional ism as they skillfully manage offenders and maintain control in these settings, despite the risk to their personal safety; and 
The work of Georgia's correctional officers is an integral part of the daily operations of the Georgia Department of Corrections and the entire criminal justice system; and 
Correctional officers help make Georgia's prison system a national leader in penal institutions; and 
The citizens of Georgia are deeply grateful for the dedicated service of these men and women; now 
I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim May 4-10, 2014, as CORRECTIONAL OFFICERS WEEK in Georgia and call this observance to the attention of our citizens . 
In witness thereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the Executive Department to be affixed this 20th day of March in the year of our Lord two thousand fourtee n.
