A PROCLAMATION STATE EMPLOYEES RECOGNITION WEEK 
 
WHEREAS: 
 
The State of Georgia is proud to recognize May 4, 20 11, as State Employees Recognition Day and the week of May 2-6, 20 11 , as Stat e Em ployees Recog nition Week, a time to honor the men and women who serve meritori ously in o ur state; and 
 
WHEREAS: 
 
Georgians are fortunate to have government employees who exce l in t he workplace . These hardworking men and wome n demonstrate dependabil ity, init iative and practical stewardship of state resources; and 
 
WHEREAS: 
 
Th roug hout .Georgia, pub lic employees will use t hi s t ime t o edu cat e citizens about the many ways state government serves t he peopl e and how governm ent se rvices make life better for ind ividuals an d comm un ities; and 
 
WHEREAS : 
 
State employees perform valuable and vital services that benefit Georgians. From health and human services, education, and nat ural resources to revenue collection, public safety, and emergency rel ief, dedicated men and women take pride in t he way they serve their fellow citizens in a helpful, and professional manner; and 
 
WHEREAS : 
 
During the week of May 3-7, the State of Georgia wil l recog nize t he contributions of t hou sands of stat e employees who daily give of themse lves in service to Georgia; now 
 
THEREFORE: I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of t he State of Georg ia, do hereby proclaim May 2- 6 , 2011, as STATE EM PLOYEES RECOGNITION WEE K, with May 6 as STATE EMPLOYEES RECOGNITION DAY in Georgia and enco urage our citizens to recog nize the v ital contributions of Georgia's state employees.
