A PROCLAMATION 
GEORGIA ANIMAL WEEK 
 
WHEREAS: Georgia is home to thousands of an imals, domesticated and wild; and 
 
WHEREAS: 
 
It is important that cit izens of Georgia take ce rtain measures to ensure the well-be ing and protection of the an imals in the ir care and in the ir communities; and 
 
WHEREAS: 
 
Georg ia An imal Week is a time to raise awareness about animal protection and how to improve their living conditions. This week celebrates the j oy, service, and care that animals bring into our lives; and 
 
WHEREAS : 
 
During this week, an imals shelters, rescue groups, education institutions, and humane organ izations around the state will host events that work to preserve an imal life and promote the importance of the ir proper care; now 
 
THEREFORE: I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim October 22- 30, 20 1 1, as AN IMAL WEEK in Georgia.
