Flags on the State Capitol Building and in Chatham County, Georgia 
Ordered Lowered to Half-Staff 
 
Sgt. Kelvin Ansari of the Savannah Police Department was killed in the line of duty on Saturday, May n, 2019, while responding to a robbery call; and 
 
Sgt. Ansari was 21-year veteran of the U.S. Army and a 10-year veteran of the Savannah Police Department. He was recognized as Detective of the Year in 2018 and was later promoted to the rank of sergeant; and 
 
It is fitting and proper to recognize Sgt. Ansari's service to the citizens of Chatham County, the State of Georgia, and the United States of America. 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, IN HONOR AND AS A MARK OF RESPECT FOR THE MEMORY OF SGT. KELVIN ANSARI, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY 
 
That the flag of the United States and flag of the State of Georgia be 
 
flown at half-staff on the State Capitol building and in Chatham 
 
County, Georgia, on Saturday, May 18, 2019, the day of Sgt. Ansari's 
 
interment, until sunset.
