THE STATE OF GEORGIA EXECUTIVE ORDER BY THE GOVERNOR: FLAGS ON STATE BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS ORDERED LOWERED TO HALF-STAFF WHEREAS: The Honorable Greg Kirk, District 13 Senator, in the Georgia State Senate, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2019; and WHEREAS: Senator Kirk was elected to the Georgia State Senate in 2014 and served as the Deputy Whip for the Senate Majority Caucus, and as Chairman of the State and Local Governmental Operations Committee; and WHEREAS: Senator Kirk was active in his community, and extended his services to the Sumter County Republican Party, Easter Seals Southern Georgia, Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia, Georgia Association of Community Care Providers, Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Services Board, and as former Senior Pastor of Rehoboth Baptist Church in Americus; and WHEREAS: It is fitting and proper to remember and honor Senator Kirk for his dedicated service to our state. NOW, THEREFORE, IN HONOR AND MEMORY OF THE HONORABLE GREG KIRK, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED: That the flag of the United States and the flag of the State of Georgia be flown at half-staff on all state buildings and grounds on Friday, December 27,2019, the day of Senator Kirk's interment. l')!)c:!
