THE STATE OF GEORGIA 
EXECUTIVE ORDER 
 
BY THE GOVERNOR: 
 
Whereas: 
 
The State of Georgia holds title to approximately 11.708 acres of improved real property (the "Property"), by virtue of a Deed of Conveyance dated July 27, 1989, from Cobb County Board of Education and The Board of Education of the City of Marietta being recorded in Deed Book 5456, Pages 145-146 in the office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Cobb County; and 
 
WHEREAS: 
 
Said Property is in the custody of the Technical College System of Georgia (the "Department") and is a part of the Marietta Campus of the Chattahoochee Technical College; and 
 
WHEREAS: 
 
The Property is improved with structures identified as Building J (BLLIP ID # 44124), which is approximately 1,230 square feet, and Building I (BLLIP ID # 16618), which is approximately 2,091 square feet (the "Structures"), as shown in that aerial photograph attached hereto as Exhibit "A", and incorporated herein by reference; and 
 
WHEREAS: 
 
Said Structures are identified by the Department as being surplus to its needs with plans to construct a new Health Science Building in their current location; and 
 
WHEREAS: 
 
The State Board of the Technical College System of Georgia on May 3, 2018, recommended the demolition of the Structure and requested that the State Properties Commission seek an Executive Order from the Governor to allow for the razing, demolition, and disposal of the Structure as in the best interest of the State of Georgia. 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE State of Georgia, it is hereby 
 
ORDERED: 
 
The Technical College System of Georgia is hereby authorized and directed to provide for the razing, demolition and disposal of said Structure under the terms and conditions which are deemed to be in the best interests of the State of Georgia.
