EXECUTIVE ORDER

FLAGS ON ALL STATE BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS ORDERED LOWERED TO HALF-STAFF

On Friday, September 29, 2017, Detective Kristen Hearne, of Cedartown, Georgia, was tragically killed in the line of duty; and
Detective Hearne began her career in law enforcement in 2008 with the Floyd County Sheriff's Department. She began working with the Polk County Police Department in 2012 and quickly rose to the rank of Detective; and
It is fitting and proper to recognize Detective Hearne's service to Polk County and the State of Georgia by lowering the flags on all State buildings and grounds to half-staff.
NOW, THEREFORE, IN HONOR AND AS A MARK OF RESPECf FOR THE MEMORY OF DETECTIVE KRISTEN HEARNE, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY
That the flag of the United States and the flag of the State of Georgia be flown at half-staff on all state buildings and grounds on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, the day ofDet. Hearne's interment, until sunset.
