THE STATE OF GEORGIA EXECUTIVE ORDER BY THE GOVERNOR: WHEREAS: The State of Georgia holds title to certain real property by vittue of a March 30, 1955 quitclaim deed from United States of America, through and by E.L. Peterson, Assistant Secretmy of Agriculture, for approximately 35,879.03 acres recorded in Ware County Clerk of Superior Court in Deed Book 8-H, Pages 469-471 and Brantley County Clerk of Superior Court in Deed Book 17, pages 430-432 (the "Property"); and WHEREAS: Said Property is in the custody of the Depmtment of Natural Resources (the "Depmtment") and is operated as Laura S. Walker State Park; and WHEREAS: The Property improvements include an approximate 3,491 square foot pool bathhouse, as shown in that aerial photograph attached hereto as Exhibit A, and incorporated herein by reference (the "Structure"); and WHEREAS: Said Structure is identified by the Department to no longer be essential for park operations and unsafe in its current condition, is declared to have no value, and staff of the Depmtment recommended the removal of the Structure; and WHEREAS: The Board of Natural Resources on Februmy 6, 2015, resolved to recommend the removal of the Structure and requested that the State Properties Commission seek an Executive Order from the Governor to allow for the razing, demolition, and disposal of the Structure as in the best interest of the State of Georgia; and WHEREAS: The Department of Natural Resources has funding available to raze, demolish, and dispose of said Structure. NOW, THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORI'IY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED: The Department of Natural Resources is hereby authorized and directed to provide for the razing, demolition and disposal of said Structure under the terms and conditions which are deemed to be in the best interests of the State of Georgia.
