Staff Sgt. Chester J. McBride III, 30, of Statesboro, Georgia, honorably served our country in the United States Air Force; and 
Staff Sgt. McBride made the ultimate sacrifice on December 21 when his patrol was attacked near Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan; and 
It is fitting and proper to recognize Sgt. McBride's service and sacrifice by lowering the flags on all State buildings and grounds to half-staff on the day of his interment. 
NOW, THEREFORE, IN HONOR AND AS A MARR OF RESPECT FOR THE 
MEMORY OF STAFF SGT. CHESTER J. MCBRIDE, III, PURSUANT TO 
THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY 
That the flag of the United States and the flag of the State of Georgia be flown at half-staff on all state buildings and grounds on Saturday, January 2, 201&, the day of his funeral, until sunset.
