Governor and First Lady to kick off the Christmas season 
 
Gov. Nathan Deal and First Lady Sandra Deal will kick off the Christmas season at the Georgia Building Authority's annual lighting of the Capitol Christmas tree on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 11 a.m.

The Deals will also hold a tree lighting ceremony at the Governor's Mansion on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 6 p.m. This event is open to the public and is also the start for the Governor's Mansion Christmas tours, which run from Dec. 9-20. The Governor's Mansion is a Toys for Tots drop off site.

Governor's Mansion Christmas tour hours: Monday thru Friday, 9:30 a.m.  11a.m. Saturdays, 10 a.m.  12:30 p.m. Sundays, 2 p.m.  4 p.m. 
 
 To make a reservation or for more information on the Christmas tours, call 404-261-1776. Reservations are required for groups of 10 or more.
